 When I was young I used to love to watch the cartoon show “The Jetsons.” You probably remember the Jetsons as the family of the future that lived in a high rise apartment in the clouds and with the flying car and the robot maid. Well who would have guessed that the life we saw on the Jetsons would be the life we are quickly approaching.
No we don’t live in the clouds and we don’t have flying cars but thanks to the company irobot.com we do have a robot maid and it’s called the Roomba.
The Roomba is the Vacuum Cleaning Robot that you’ve been hearing about. And in the words of Judy Jetson, this thing is “dreamy.”
For the first few months you have your Roomba, it’s like a novelty that you just don’t get tired of. You’ll be sitting on the sofa watching the TV and all of a sudden the Roomba will go by. You think, oh how cool, the Roomba is cleaning the floor. And then all of sudden it hits you; “this thing is awesome!”
You suddenly realize that you don’t have to clean the floors like you used to. The dirt, the dust, the pet hair, all of the crumbs and crud that used to be your responsibility to clean of the floor are gone. All cleaned up by the Roomba, and the best part; because the Roomba is always working, you never even see any debris on your floors because the Roomba is constantly cleaning. Your floors always look their best because the Roomba is always working to keep them that way.
And here’s the big surprise you won’t be expecting; it takes a while to get used to not having to constantly clean the floors. All of a sudden you notice you have extra time. It’s only then that you realize the Roomba not only works, but it works for you, making life easier and giving you extra time to do the things you love rather than cleaning the floors.
There are a lot of products you can buy for your home, but how many things actually come into your home and work for you? How many products actually make your life easier?
I’ve had a Roomba for about six month now and I can’t imagine life without it. The floors in my house always look great, and as the guru of good housekeeping Martha Stewart says, “When your floors are clean, your house is clean.” My house is clean, and I have the Roomba to thank.
