Last night’s award show was the double elimination due to last week’s judge’s save of Matt Giraud. First to stand up was Lil Rounds and unfortunately her fans couldn’t save her and she was eliminated from the competition. Lil got to sing one more time before her exit. Paula commented that it was better then last night and she has a long road ahead of her.
After performances by Thelma Houston, Freda Payne and KC from KC and the Sunshine Band, which were a little uncomfortable to watch. I have nothing to say other then who advised them on what to wear? And then David Archuleta sang his new single “Touch My Hand,” which was a little flat before taking off at the chorus. David is off to the UK for tour and then has a couple other tours coming up as well.
The bottom two this week was not really a shock in a sense. The fans of Matt got a kick in the ass and made sure they voted which made him safe. You know front runners, Adam and Danny are safe. Which leaves Kris and Allison, Kris hasn’t been in the bottom yet but Allison has. Bottom two for the week were, Anoop and Allison, given that you know that Anoop with his fourth time in the bottom couldn’t be saved anymore.
So we are left with Adam, Danny, Allison, Matt and Kris (in the order I looking for them to finish). In the next coming weeks there is a lot of pressure on song choice, fan base and judges critique. They can’t use the judges save so from here on out it’s all about America’s vote. I have full confidence that Adam is going to win it all but in years past, Taylor Hicks, David Cook, there has been a dark horse that upsets the competition.
The top two right now are Adam and Danny but Kris could very well sneak into the top slot. Danny who is a fan favorite seems to be losing steam in his song choices. Allison or Matt could be going home next week both have been in the bottom before. I have a feeling like every year there will be an upset that will be getting the buzz on I can’t believe they got eliminated. Who will it be and when will it be?
