When to jog. Of course the answer is, jog whenever you have the opportunity. But the best time to jog is definitely early in the morning; just after sunrise early. The reason is that oxygen content in the air is at its peek in the early morning hours. That oxygen is essential to burning calories so jogging when oxygen is most plentiful maximizes your efforts.
Getting ready for the jog. Like with any exercise it is best to warm up and limber up before you actually start jogging. You should start by stretching and by doing a few exercises like push-ups to get your heart pumping. Then, before you start jogging, you should drink at least a little water. You need to stay hydrated and water is the best way to do that.
What to wear. Besides a good pair of running sneakers, there really isn’t anything special you need to wear when jogging. Just make sure you wear something comfortable that is loose fitting.
For beginners, it’s important to push yourself, but not to hard until you know your limitations. Start with short distances and increase as you feel yourself get stronger and your endurance builds. And always remember to walk for a short period after your jog. Just as you wanted to warm up you also need to cool down. It’s a good idea for beginners to walk the last 500 yards of their jog.
