What's Hot in Weddings
No-Fuss Nuptials

For a nearly stress-free wedding, consider holding your ceremony and reception at the same site.  Western New York affords plenty of options for all-in-one weddings that help maximize your budget by saving on transportation costs, decorations, and ceremony fees.

Gregor's Garden Grove Gregor’s Garden Grove

A private banquet hall in West Seneca, Gregor’s Garden Grove features a premium open bar at a bargain price, homemade food (they host only one wedding per day) and indoor and outdoor wedding ceremonies.

Key features to note:
  • The indoor chapel faces out towards the reception room, so guests can observe the ceremony from their seats.  Wedding ceremonies are free when you hold your reception here (you must provide your own minister; if you don’t have one, they can recommend one to you).
  • An in-house DJ is available for only $300, and noise is restricted to the dance floor so as not to disturb those who are seated.
  • Discounts apply to couples marrying in January, February, or March.
Gregor’s menu is not available online; however, you can request one by filling out the contact form on the website.  You’ll receive your copy in just a few days.

Grand Lady Cruises Grand Lady Cruises

Marry aboard Grand Lady’s Grand Island cruise ship, which operates between May 1 and October 31.  Wedding ceremonies by the captain (an ordained minister) take place on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Prices are as follows:

$800 Sunday to Friday
$900 Saturday

Wedding packages include use of the Grand Lady from 3 pm to 5 pm with a 1 ½ hour cruise, a civil wedding ceremony, and a champagne toast for the first 50 guests (and $8 each for additional guests).

Summer Wind Summer Wind

Sail the Chautauqua Lake in a climate-controlled cruise boat that can accommodate up to 110 passengers.

Although there is no formal wedding page on their website, we did inquire about weddings on the ship. The verdict: you can take part in a public cruise (just be sure to reserve tickets for you and your guests in advance) or charter a private cruise for your ceremony.

Food packages are available with catering provided by Vullo’s Restaurant.

Marygold Manor Wedding Ceremony Marygold Manor

Like Gregor’s Garden, Cheektowaga’s Marygold Manor offers free wedding ceremonies (with receptions of 50 or more people). They also provide plenty of extras, including:

  • Wine toast to head table
  • Birdcage for gift cards
  • Silk flower centerpieces
  • Tablecloth, napkins, and choice of colored overlays
  • Chair covers
  • Background music during dinner

Marygold Manor also has an in-house DJ who is available for hire.

Buffalo Botanical Gardens Buffalo Botanical Gardens

A tropical wedding is always in season at the Buffalo Botanical Gardens.

Prices are reasonable, although separate fees apply to ceremonies and receptions (visit the gardens or call for current rates).  For more information, email Wedding Coordinator Mary Rose at mrose@buffalogardens.com.
